Malika is a Canadian-born artist, pattern designer, and the founder of Maliki Maluca. The brand relates to the feeling of awe for the mystic, nature and vibrancy which inspires her living in Brazil. The design ethos is to follow curiosity, lean into your sense of wonder and savor simple everyday pleasures.

Malika received a Bachelor of Design at Ryerson University's School of Fashion in Toronto and began her career as an in-house accessory designer for Herschel Supply Company in Vancouver. There she worked on product development as well as textile pattern design.

Fast forward a few years, Malika felt a calling to go backpacking in Brazil. Traveling through the tropical coast, discovering its vibrant culture, people, music, spirituality and nature. Malika began a journey learning to surf, speak Portuguese and dance forró. In 2021 she went back to get settled in Florianópolis, an island city in the south of Brazil where she opened her design studio Maliki Maluca.
